Crochet away!

Thanks for all the doodles that you shared with us - what a creative bunch!
This week I (Lythan) am bringing together two of my crafty loves - card making and crochet in a dare called
 Crochet Away
I have been involved in (also very far behind) in what is called a CAL - crochet a-long, attempting to make this blanket
I suspect mine won't look quite as good as this but I have enjoyed learning lots of new crochet techniques with all the different patterned squares. So I would like you to be inspired by crochet - maybe by the square patterns, or using some wool on your card or even a bit of crochet.

Thisweek we are saying goodbye to the lovely Shabneez - it has been so good having you as a Guest Designer and we look forward to seeing more of your creations in due course.
And here is some inspiration from the design team who all have a very different take on the dare this week...

Doodle, Doodle, Do!

If you've been following our blog for the last few weeks, you'll have 'met' Purvi, one of our Guest Designers - but did you know that a lot of the lovely cards she's been sharing feature Purvi's own, hand-drawn elements?  Well, we've been so impressed we thought we'd all have a go, and would like you all to join in too!

Doodle, Doodle, Do!

As Purvi says: "Make your pen your friend...scribble, doodle, draw shapes/patterns, make marks...just go with the flow"

So this week, please follow Purvi's lead and add a drawing or a doodled element to your card this week

Here's what the team came up with

Strawberries and Cream

Hi everyone it's Sharon here.  Thanks to everyone that joined in last week with Miri's wonderful summer themed challenge.   Even though the weather was a bit dubious, seeing all the lovely summery cards really put me in a summery mood!

This week I'm kind of continuing with the summer theme as my dare is
Strawberries and Cream.
Since we've just had Wimbledon and it's most definitely the time for strawberries in the UK, I'd like you to either feature strawberries on your card, or just take inspiration from a strawberry and cream colour scheme.

To give you some inspiration, here are some ideas from the design team:

Let's have a summer party

Thank you very much for your cards that were inspired by Lythan’s fantastic beach collage.

This week I’m still in summer mood and I want you to create a card that features one ingredient for a perfect summer party. No matter if it’s a pool party, a picnic party, a birthday party, a Euros party or a BBQ party:
BBQ (steaks, sausages etc.), sun glasses, a pool, lemonade, cocktails, a water melon, picnic baskets, all kinds of balls (to entertain the kids), colourful napkins, summer fruits, ice cubes, bunting, cake, a parasol …

Let’s see what my fantastic Design Team members came up with.

Elemental Inspiration for July

Thank you to all who shared cards inspired by out "On Your Travels" theme last week - we enjoyed travelling the blogs seeing what you'd made!
We're sure you are enjoying seeing Purvi Gadewar's clever cards, so we are very happy that she's staying for a bit longer - but lucky us! we are delighted to introduce another lovely Guest Designer:
 Shabneez,
aka Happy Hijabi, who will be sharing some great ideas over the next few weeks

 Now on to this week's challenge;

July's Elemental Inspiration piece is more of a mood-board or collage of several pictures and has been chosen by Lythan.
 Lots of Summertime beach-themes here!
As ever the challenge is to create your own card which uses at least 3 elements from the picture.

Suggestions: Bright Stripes, Deckchair, Lollies, Beach, Sea, Slip-flops, Sun hats, Summer-themed words, Clouds, Layout

Now see how the Design Team were inspired....
